Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi mobile yang semakin pesat telah mendorong meningkatnya penggunaan perangkat smartphone sebagai media hiburan yang mudah diakses oleh berbagai kalangan. Salah satu bentuk hiburan digital yang mengalami perkembangan signifikan adalah game, khususnya game casual yang menawarkan konsep permainan sederhana, mudah dipahami, serta dapat dimainkan dalam waktu yang relatif singkat. Salah satu genre game casual yang banyak diminati adalah endless runner, yaitu permainan yang mengharuskan pemain terus berlari tanpa batas sambil menghindari berbagai rintangan dan memperoleh skor setinggi mungkin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun game casual 2D berjudul “Bunny Dream Runner” berbasis Android menggunakan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). Metode MDLC dipilih karena memiliki tahapan pengembangan yang terstruktur, meliputi concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, dan distribution, sehingga proses pembuatan game dapat dilakukan secara sistematis mulai dari tahap perencanaan hingga aplikasi siap digunakan. Game ini mengusung konsep endless runner dengan tema dunia mimpi, di mana pemain mengendalikan karakter kelinci yang harus berlari tanpa henti untuk menghindari berbagai rintangan, mengumpulkan skor sebanyak mungkin, serta bertahan selama mungkin agar memperoleh nilai tertinggi. Proses pengembangan game dilakukan menggunakan Construct 2 sebagai game engine dengan sistem pemrograman berbasis event-based, sehingga memungkinkan proses pengembangan dilakukan tanpa penulisan kode program secara kompleks. Game ini juga dilengkapi dengan kontrol sederhana berbasis touchscreen yang dirancang agar mudah digunakan oleh berbagai kalangan pengguna. Selain itu, game dapat dimainkan secara online melalui perangkat Android sehingga memudahkan pengguna dalam mengakses permainan tanpa memerlukan proses instalasi aplikasi secara langsung. ============================================================ The rapid development of mobile technology has encouraged the increasing use of smartphones as an entertainment medium that is easily accessible to people from various backgrounds. One form of digital entertainment that has experienced significant growth is gaming, particularly casual games, which offer simple gameplay, are easy to understand, and can be played within a relatively short period of time. One of the most popular casual game genres is the endless runner, in which players continuously run without an endpoint while avoiding obstacles and achieving the highest possible score. This study aims to design and develop a 2D casual game entitled “Bunny Dream Runner” for the Android platform using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. The MDLC method was selected because it provides a structured development process consisting of the concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution stages, enabling the game development process to be carried out systematically from planning to deployment. The game adopts an endless runner concept with a dream-themed environment, where players control a rabbit character that runs continuously while avoiding various obstacles, collecting points, and surviving as long as possible to achieve the highest score. The game was developed using Construct 2 as the game engine with an event-based programming system, allowing the development process to be carried out without writing complex source code. The game is also equipped with simple touchscreen controls designed to be easy for users of various backgrounds to operate. In addition, the game can be played online on Android devices, allowing users to access and enjoy the game conveniently without requiring a direct application installation.
