Abstract

Sistem pengajuan judul skripsi yang masih dilakukan secara manual menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan, seperti keterlambatan verifikasi, duplikasi judul, dan kesulitan dalam pencarian data. Permasalahan tersebut berdampak pada kurang optimalnya proses administrasi akademik di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sistem pengajuan judul skripsi berbasis web pada STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma Kota Samarinda dengan menerapkan algoritma Boyer–Moore untuk mendeteksi kemiripan judul skripsi. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah Rapid Application Development (RAD) karena mampu mempercepat proses pengembangan melalui tahapan iteratif dan keterlibatan pengguna. Implementasi algoritma Boyer–Moore memungkinkan proses pencarian judul menjadi lebih cepat dan efisien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dibangun dapat memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam mengajukan judul secara online, membantu dosen dalam proses verifikasi, serta mengurangi terjadinya duplikasi judul skripsi. Dengan demikian, sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas administrasi pengajuan judul skripsi di STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma Kota Samarinda. ============================================================ The manual thesis title submission process often causes several problems, including delays in verification, title duplication, and difficulties in data retrieval. These issues can affect the effectiveness and efficiency of academic administration in higher education institutions. This study aims to design and implement a web-based thesis title submission system at STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma Samarinda by applying the Boyer–Moore algorithm to detect similarities between submitted thesis titles. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method is used as the system development approach due to its ability to accelerate development through iterative stages and active user involvement. The implementation of the Boyer–Moore algorithm enables faster and more efficient text searching compared to conventional methods. The results of this study indicate that the developed system is able to facilitate online thesis title submission for students, support lecturers in the verification process, and minimize the occurrence of duplicate thesis titles. Therefore, the proposed system is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of thesis title administration at STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma Samarinda.
