Abstract
Proses Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (PMB) di STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma masih dilakukan melalui media konvensional seperti brosur, website, media sosial, dan penjelasan langsung, sehingga belum memberikan pengalaman yang interaktif kepada calon mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi Virtual Reality (VR) proses PMB dengan menerapkan metode Interaktif Gaze sebagai media informasi yang lebih menarik dan interaktif. Aplikasi dikembangkan menggunakan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) yang terdiri dari enam tahapan, yaitu Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, Testing, dan Distribution. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan kuesioner. Aplikasi dibangun menggunakan Unity, Blender, bahasa pemrograman C#, serta dijalankan pada perangkat Android yang dipadukan dengan VR Box. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi berhasil mensimulasikan ruang pelayanan PMB dengan objek tiga dimensi interaktif serta karakter NPC yang memberikan informasi mengenai proses pendaftaran. Hasil Black Box Testing menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fitur aplikasi berfungsi dengan baik, sedangkan Beta Testing menunjukkan bahwa pengguna memberikan penilaian positif terhadap kemudahan penggunaan, tampilan antarmuka, navigasi, dan penyampaian informasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi Virtual Reality yang dikembangkan mampu menjadi media informasi PMB yang lebih interaktif dan efektif serta meningkatkan pemahaman pengguna melalui penerapan metode Interaktif Gaze. ============================================================== The New Student Admission (PMB) process at STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma is still conducted through conventional media such as brochures, website, social media, and direct explanations, which provide limited interactive experience for prospective students. This study aims to develop a Virtual Reality (VR)-based PMB application using the Interactive Gaze method to provide a more engaging and informative admission experience. The application was developed using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, consisting of six stages: Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, Testing, and Distribution. Data were collected through observation, interviews, literature review, and questionnaires. The application was built using Unity, Blender, C#, and runs on Android devices with a VR Box. The results show that the application successfully simulates the PMB service room with interactive 3D objects and an NPC that provides admission information. Black Box Testing confirmed that all application features functioned properly, while Beta Testing indicated positive user responses regarding usability, interface design, navigation, and information delivery. In conclusion, the developed VR application effectively provides interactive and engaging information about the PMB process at STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma and enhances users' understanding through the Interactive Gaze method.
